GolfTrips.com is thrilled to share a recent interview that Glen Turk conducted with the legendary Tom Watson as part of Midwest Golfing Magazine's Golf Quest segment. I'm sure you'll enjoy the candid answers from the 9-time major champion as I did.
The R&A should pass a law stating that whenever someone asks, "Who won the 2010 British Open?" the only correct answer is Tom Watson. For in 25 years from now will you remember anything else but Watson's four-day brilliance? If not for a bogey on the 72nd hole, Watson would have become the oldest player (age 59) to win a major and would have collected his 9th major championship, tying him for 4th all-time with Gary Player. Even though Tom did not complete a memorable week with a win, the class and dignity Watson showed in defeat further cemented his legacy as a true gentleman and champion. Midwest Golfing Magazine is humbled and privileged to present our second Golf Quest segment with the legendary native of Kansas City, Missouri.
1) You can play only one course before passing- St. Andrews/Augusta National/Pebble Beach/or other and why? Kansas City Country Club the course I grew up on and which has more memories than any other course I have ever played.
